Analilia Mejia represents New Jersey’s 11th congressional district in the House, taking office on April 20, 2026 in a special election to fill Mikie Sherrill’s seat. She came to Congress from progressive advocacy and Democratic campaign politics, serving as co-director of the Center for Popular Democracy, political director for Bernie Sanders’s 2020 presidential campaign, and later in the Labor Department under President Biden. Mejia defeated Randolph councilman Joe Hathaway for the seat and is set for a rematch in the November 2026 election before the remainder of this term ends on January 3, 2027.
