Advocate Data

All data, including but not limited to personal information and supporter lists (opted-in advocates who have utilized Legisletter technology), stored by you on our platform remains exclusively yours.

Legisletter will not access, use, or share this data with any third party without your explicit consent, except as described below or as required by law.

Sharing with Legislators: When you use our platform to facilitate communication with legislators (e.g., sending letters on behalf of your advocates), we share the relevant advocate data (such as name, address, and message content) with the intended legislator. This sharing is done solely for the purpose of delivering the communication and is considered part of our core service.

Sharing with Our Clients: Clients who subscribe to Legisletter services and deploy grassroots political campaigns through our platform only receive advocate data specifically generated from their own campaigns. This includes information such as email addresses and contact information of advocates who have opted into their campaigns. This selective sharing enables clients to effectively manage and engage in advocacy efforts. Advocates are encouraged to review our clients’ privacy policies to understand how their personal information may be used.

Other Uses: We may also use advocate data in an anonymized and aggregated form for internal analysis and service improvement. This data will not be identifiable to any individual.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Legisletter utilizes privacy-focused analytics to track site performance and the effectiveness of our customer campaigns. These analytics are completely anonymous and do not collect personal data, use cookies, or employ persistent identifiers.

Third Party Data Services

Users Outside of the United States

Legisletter is designed to facilitate communication exclusively with United States legislators. Therefore, while our platform facilitates the sending of emails to U.S. legislators, it requires users to be U.S. citizens or residents to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements specific to U.S. legislative advocacy. Users residing outside of the United States or who are not U.S. citizens may not be eligible to use our service for sending communications to U.S. legislators.

Security

Legisletter commits to maintaining the highest level of data security. All client data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using AES and TLS protocols, ensuring robust protection. Additionally, all data is stored and processed exclusively within the United States, adhering to stringent data protection and privacy standards. We adhere to all applicable federal and state laws governing the protection of personal information. Updates to our security protocols will be communicated through official channels and documented in our ongoing security updates.
