Mr. Speaker, had I been present, I would have voted YEA on Roll Call No. 270. Stated against:

Mr. Chairman, the best way to compete with China is to have a strong American economy. We shouldn't be funding the protection of a foreign country that is producing over 90 percent of our chips when we should be producing those chips right here at home. Currently, many of our rare earth minerals are tied up on Federal lands, and this is a problem that is tying up the production of chips here in America. Mr. Chairman, America should be building our strength and resilience.

Mr. Speaker, I rise in support of H.R. 2056, the District of Columbia Federal Immigration Compliance Act, introduced by my good friend from Louisiana, Mr. Clay Higgins. Bringing in and harboring illegal aliens is not only a crime under Federal law, but it is also an absolute affront to the American people. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to address the House about a clause that is in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This clause would take away States' rights to make laws or regulate AI for 10 years. I think federalism is something that must always be protected, and I warn against the dangers of protecting a tech industry where we have no idea what the future of this industry will hold. AI is rapidly developing. AI has developed quickly over the past few years. Imagine what it will be 1 year from now, 5 years from now, and 10 years from now.

Biography
Marjorie Taylor Greene served as the U.S. representative for Georgia's 14th district from 2021 until her resignation took effect on January 5, 2026, after a break with Donald Trump opened the prospect of a damaging primary. A Republican elected in 2020 and reelected in 2022 and 2024, she built her House profile on hard-line immigration politics, gun rights, and repeated impeachment efforts against federal officials. The House stripped her of committee assignments in February 2021 over her past support for political violence, though she returned to committee work in 2023.
