Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the remarkable career of a great American, Gina Joy Rigby-House, who will soon retire from her role as Vice President of AFLAC. A native of Smiths Station, Alabama, Gina first worked for AFLAC part time during high school. After attending Liberty University, Gina dedicated her career to advocacy and government relations. For nearly a decade, Gina worked for the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association, and in 2000 she joined a company whose commercials and mascot are familiar to us all, AFLAC.

I am grateful for the overwhelming bipartisan support this legislation received in committee, and I am grateful for the opportunity to present it before the House of Representatives for consideration today. Madam Speaker, our Republican majority was elected on a promise to make the Federal Government more efficient, reduce bureaucracy, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly.
Mr. Speaker, yesterday the Committee on Rules met and granted a rule providing for consideration of a few measures. First, the rule provides for consideration of H.R. 1041, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act, under a closed rule. The rule provides 1 hour of general debate equally divided and controlled by the chair and ranking member of the Committee on Veterans Affairs, or their respective designees, and provides one motion to recommit. Additionally, the rule provides for consideration of H.R.

Brian Jack, a former White House aide and Georgia native, was elected as the U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 3rd congressional district in 2024.
