Rosa DeLauro Biography
Rosa DeLauro began her career as a community organizer in New Haven, Connecticut, advocating for workers and public health. Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Connecticut’s 3rd District in 1990, she has become a leading voice on food safety, child nutrition, and expanding paid family leave. DeLauro authored the Family and Medical Insurance Leave (FAMILY) Act and chaired the House Appropriations Committee, securing increased funding for child tax credits.
