Biography
Pablo José Hernández is the youngest Resident Commissioner in Puerto Rico's history, elected to the 119th Congress for a four-year term beginning January 3, 2025. Born in San Juan in 1991, he won the highest vote total of any official on the 2024 Puerto Rico ballot. A graduate of Harvard (A.B., 2013) and Stanford Law (J.D., 2017) — where he worked with the Immigrants' Rights Clinic — Hernández previously clerked at the U.S. District Court of Puerto Rico. He focuses on economic development, equity in federal programs, and infrastructure. He serves on the House Committees on Homeland Security — the first Resident Commissioner to do so — and Natural Resources, and caucuses with the Democratic Party as a Popular Democrat (PPD).
