Alan Armstrong

Biography
Alan Armstrong is Oklahoma’s junior U.S. senator, appointed in March 2026 after Markwayne Mullin resigned to become secretary of homeland security. A Republican, Armstrong entered the Senate without prior elected office after a long run in the energy business. He led Williams, the oil and gas company, as CEO from 2011 to 2025. That makes him a rare late-career Senate appointee whose résumé is corporate rather than legislative.
